Just 3 weeks after his Yukon Arctic Ultra success, Gavan stood on the other side of the planet, deep in Siberia on the banks of Lake Baikal. The Russian freshwater lake is the biggest and deepest in the world, holding 20% of the world's freshwater. Gavan set off Solo again with his sled this time weighing 60 kg and hauled it 700 km along the shoreline from South to North completing the epic journey in 17 days. He is one of only a few people recorded to have managed this entire journey solo on foot.
